
Optometrist Dr. Kristine-Hue Van
Dr. Kristine-Hue Van was born in Kansas and raised in Lousiana, Hawaii and Virginia. After graduating from Meadowbrook High School in 2001 she went to Virginia Commonwealth University to fulfill her prerequisites for entrance into Optometry school. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2008 from Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. Following graduation, she joined Dr. David Spruill & Associates and after 2 years, she acquired the Willow Lawn office in 2010.
Dr. Van strives to provide the highest level of eye care in a warm and friendly environment to all new and existing patients using state of the art technology and latest techniques. She has spent her time volunteering for OneSight, Lions Club and VOSH in the Dominica Republic and Puerto Rico. She is fluent in Vietnamese and can also complete an eye examination in Spanish. Dr. Van’s areas of focus include dry eye therapy, specialty contact lenses and ocular diseases.
When she is not seeing patients you will find her enjoying the outdoors and traveling. She also enjoys cooking and experimenting in the culinary arts. Dr. Van and Dr. Galban welcomed their first daughter Chloe Jane together in Sept 2020 and Jasmine Claire in July 2022. Dr. Van is enjoying all the aspects of being a mother.
Dr. Van is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, Richmond Optometric Society and All Docs.
Optometrist Dr. Robert Galban, Jr.
Dr. Robert Galban, Jr is from San Francisco, California and attended San Francisco State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology with a minor in Chemistry in 2004. Dr. Galban then attended Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, where he received his Doctorate Degree of Optometry in 2008. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Galban worked at The Eye Institute of Marin, a Glaucoma specialist ophthalmology office located in San Rafael, CA. He later moved to Sacramento, CA where he worked for a General Ophthalmology office Sierra Eye Care from 2012 to 2017. Dr. Galban moved to Richmond, VA in 2017 and has since been working at Dr. Kristine-Hue Van and Associates, Inc.
Dr. Galban is an avid film buff and enjoys critiquing television programs and motion pictures. He enjoys listening to pop culture and movie review podcasts and often contributes to them via guest hosting and sending in listener feedback. Dr. Galban enjoys sports and is a huge fan of all Bay Area professional sports teams. Dr. Galban enjoys music from the 70's and 80's and loves singing Karaoke. Dr. Galban also enjoys cooking and bbqing.
Dr. Galban is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and also an active member of the Richmond Optometric Society. Dr. Galban is dedicated to providing the community with excellence in eye care. He is devoted to patient care and hopes to provide a lasting impression to all of the patients at Dr. Kristine-Hue Van and Associates.


Optometrist Dr. Ivana de Leon
Dr. Ivana de Leon is originally from Alexandria, VA. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University in 2017. Dr. de Leon started out as an Ophthalmic technician in 2012 and came back as a Doctor of Optometry in 2018 at this practice. Outside the office she is always trying new foods and loves to dance.
Optometrist Dr. Kristen Jarrell
Dr. Jarrell was born and raised in Chesterfield, VA. Dr. Jarrell and her husband Kevin currently live in Midlothian, VA with their two children, Charlotte and Henry. When not in the office, Dr. Jarrell enjoys crafting, baking, indoor cycling and spending time with her family.
